I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Neuroscience and obtained my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health & Counseling at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where I focused on trauma and trauma-related anxiety and depression. Currently, I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California.
My passion for the working mechanisms of the brain and how different factors can influence our thoughts and behaviors has led me to follow the footsteps of great psychologists such as Carl Jung. Traveling and living in different parts of the world has exposed me to different cultures, practices, and faiths that intertwine with our psyche. I strive to treat not just the brain, but the mind, body, and spirit as a whole unit. In my spare time, I enjoy reading to improve both my mind and my practice. If I’m not at home or in my office, I’ll be out in nature, as it gives me a sense of belonging to a bigger picture that can give one’s life meaning.
My approach is based on an integrative model of psychotherapy, which incorporates all aspects of a person’s life to enhance the treatment of the person as a whole. The core of my approach is based on psychodynamic/psychoanalytic practice that allows me to dive into the unconscious realm of the psyche to surface hidden feelings, thoughts, and memories. When the root of the problem has been identified, I implement evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Spiritual Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to create a personalized treatment plan that best fits your psyche.
My expertise and understanding of the human psyche allow me to help clients from diverse backgrounds achieve a healthier mental state. I believe various factors influence a person’s mental health, and my approach focuses on treating individuals holistically rather than just their symptoms. Through compassion and empathy, I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
